Educational Consultations

As a school social worker and CSE Chairperson, I have much experience supporting students and their families as they age and progress through the school system. An impartial assessment can be helpful to parents in advocating for their children and in educating themselves about procedures, diagnoses and services.

  • Review existing documentation/evaluations
  • Interview child/parent
  • Provide insight/recommendations

Ultimately it is the collective agreement of the Committee on Special Education that determines a student’s support services, but it is a parent’s responsibility to advocate and ensure their child’s educational and emotional needs are being met.
